Visitor rules
How to behave in nature
From time to time, it is good to review the rules of behaviour – not only in the national nature reserve, but in nature in general. Follow the Ten Commandments of behaviour in nature and it will repay us with its absolute beauty!
In the entire area of the national nature reserve, it is only allowed to walk on marked hiking trails. Visiting the beech forests is only suitable for hikers, with the exception of Viničná cesta (hiking and cycling trail). The boundary of the national nature reserve is marked by two red stripes on the trees and signs with the national emblem.
The tenets of a conscientious visitor
Protect nature and all it provides.
Do not pluck plants.
Do not disturb the peace and quiet of the forest. Do not scare animals with noise.
Leave no trace.
Leave the place as you found it.
Please take out with you any garbage you bring in.
Dig a hole and cover up your excrement. The forest is not a toilet.
Move only on marked and permitted routes.
Do not light a fire outside of designated camping sites.
Respect the place you visit and the local inhabitants.
Avoid risk. Be responsible. Provide help when needed.
Prepare well for your visit to the Jizera Mountains beech forests
Steep slopes, weather changes, root-laden ground, rain and fog – all this is the Jizera Mountains, too. You also need to think about your health, so we have some recommendations for you:
-
Do not forget to charge your phone and download the Záchranka app for emergency calls.
-
Wear sturdy hiking shoes and appropriate clothing – remember, there is no bad weather, only bad clothes!
-
Bring a small snack and drink.
